Why is the master switch the usual suspect?
The driver's switch gets the most use, and it sits where drinks and rain from an open window land. Sugar and water corrode contacts inside. On many newer cars the master switch is also a small module that talks to the doors over a network, so a failed switch can affect mirrors and locks too.
A quick test is simple: try each window from both its own switch and the master. If one path works, the motor is healthy. If neither works, the power window motor or the door jamb wiring is more likely. Wires that flex in the jamb can break, which is a job for wiring harness repair.

Frequently asked questions
Can a spilled drink really ruin a window switch?
Yes. Sugary drinks leave residue that corrodes contacts and makes buttons stick. Sometimes cleaning helps, but corrosion inside usually means a new switch.
Why do all my rear windows not work?
Check the window lock button first. If it is off and they still do not work, the master switch or a shared fuse is the likely cause. We test both.
