California gives auto repair customers clear rights, and Route 66 Auto Repair builds its process around them. This page summarizes those rights in plain language. It is general information, not legal advice.
Your rights at the counter
- A written estimate: you receive a written estimated price for parts and labor before work begins.
- Authorization: work that would go beyond the estimate needs your consent first, and we record it on the repair order.
- An itemized invoice: the invoice lists the work done and the parts supplied, and states whether any part is used or rebuilt.
- Replaced parts: you may ask for your replaced parts back when you approve the work. Parts that must be returned to a supplier under a warranty or exchange are shown to you instead.
