Auto Repair for Fontana Drivers, West on the 210 to Upland

The 210 west is the most common choice. Get on at Sierra Ave or Citrus Ave, pass through Rancho Cucamonga into Upland, and exit at Mountain Ave. Go south to Foothill Blvd and turn west. Central Ave is the cross street, and In-N-Out Burger is one block west of us.

Historic Route 66 itself is the other option. It carries Historic Route 66 straight west from Fontana through Rancho Cucamonga to our front door, with no freeway at all. It has many signals, so it is slower, but some drivers prefer it with a tired truck or a car that is running warm. Fontana sits farther inland than most of our cities, and summer afternoons run hot. Heat is the enemy of coolant, transmission fluid and batteries. Add the truck traffic around the I-10 and I-15 warehouse corridors, and a lot of Fontana driving happens in slow, hot traffic surrounded by big rigs.

Many Fontana drivers also head north on the I-15 through the Cajon Pass toward the High Desert. That long climb is a classic place for an engine to overheat or a transmission to run hot, especially when towing. On the way back down, brakes take the load. Dust blowing off open land and construction sites finishes the picture by clogging air filters.
