What happens to a windshield crack on a daily commute?

Step 2: Stabilize
The tip is treated first so the crack cannot run while resin goes in.
Step 3: Seal
Resin is worked in along the crack and cured in stages.
Step 4: Check from the seat
We look through the glass from the driver's position and run the wipers over the repair.

The written estimate lists the crack, the method and any other chips worth fixing while you are here. For fleets, we put the unit number on the invoice. Crack sealing usually fits into a short visit when the board allows; call before you drive over, and use the after-hours key drop if that is easier.
Aftercare for a sealed windshield crack
Keep it out of the car wash for a day, and let the cabin cool a few minutes before turning the AC to full. Replace streaky wipers so they do not chatter over the repair. If the crack grows past the sealed tip, bring it back and it goes to the front of the line.

How long can I drive on a cracked windshield?

Is crack sealing different from chip repair?
Yes. A chip repair fills a single impact point. Sealing works along the length of a crack and has to stop its tip, which takes more care and more resin.
Can a sealed crack still spread?
It can, especially a long or stressed crack. Most short cracks stay stable. If yours moves, bring it back.
Can you seal cracks on fleet vans and work trucks?
Yes, as long as the glass is laminated and the crack is sealable. Fleet vehicles get unit numbers on the invoice and priority when the board allows. Details are on our fleet page.
