Our cabin filter change process
Step 1: Reach the filter
Most filters sit behind the glove box. Some are under the dash or at the base of the windshield.
Step 2: Show you the old filter
We pull it and show you the dirt, leaves or nesting material it caught.
Step 3: Clean the housing
We remove loose debris so it does not get pulled into the blower fan.
Step 4: Install and test
The new filter goes in with the airflow arrow pointing the right way, and we test every fan speed.

After your cabin filter change
Run the fan on high for a few minutes to clear stale air. To reduce musty smells, turn off the AC compressor and run only the fan for the last minute or two of a drive, which helps dry the system. How often should a cabin air filter be changed?
Your owner's manual gives an interval, but dust, pollen and smoke can clog it sooner. If the vents smell musty or airflow drops, check it. We look at it during other visits and show you, so you are not replacing a clean filter.
Will a new cabin filter make my AC colder?
It can bring back airflow that a clogged filter was blocking, which makes the car feel cooler faster. It does not fix a system that is low on the refrigerant your vehicle specifies, or a failing compressor. Those need an AC diagnosis.
Is a carbon cabin filter worth it?
It helps if traffic exhaust or odors bother you. It still traps dust like a standard filter. We tell you whether one is available for your vehicle and put the price for each type on the estimate so you can choose.
