How does a one-way rental differ from in-town?
With in-town rentals, the equipment comes back to us. With one-way, U-Haul assigns a drop-off location in or near the city you choose. The reservation sets the allowed time and terms, so read it before you leave the lot.
Because the unit won't come back to Upland, our checkout photos and your drop-off photos matter even more. The receiving location has never seen the unit before.
What can you rent one-way?

We walk the unit and take fuel and cargo photos at checkout.
Step 4: Check the hookup
If you tow, the free hookup check happens before you leave.
Step 5: Drop and document
At the destination, photograph fuel, odometer and cargo area before handing over keys.

How should you prepare your own vehicle for a long tow?
Leaving the Inland Empire usually means a climb: the Cajon Pass toward Las Vegas, or Beaumont toward Arizona. A loaded trailer adds heat and stopping distance. A paid vehicle safety inspection a few days before the move checks brakes, tires, cooling and transmission, with each item labeled need-now or need-later on a written estimate.
