It starts at the counter. A service writer writes down the symptom in the words you use, takes the vehicle details and asks how you want to be reached during the day. Before a technician touches anything, the writer states the diagnostic fee out loud, so you know the number before testing starts rather than after. That fee applies to approved related repair.

Then the vehicle gets tested, not guessed at. A technician confirms the fault with measurements and a scan, photographs whatever failed when the part is the point, and hands the findings to the counter. What comes back to you is a written estimate with parts and labor on every line, and each line carries a label: need now for anything that is a safety or strand risk, need later for wear that is safe to put on the calendar.

Nothing past the agreed testing is performed until you say yes to specific lines. Approve the need-now items and leave the rest, and the declined work stays written on the repair order so the next visit picks up where this one stopped. If the job grows once the vehicle is apart, the work stops and you get a second call with new numbers. Finished repairs are checked and road-tested before pickup, and payment is by card or cash when you collect the keys.

Saturday is a short day and the schedule fills early in the week, so call ahead for it.

If the vehicle cannot be driven, have it towed in. Call first with your name and the symptom so the shop is expecting it. If you finish work after close, the after-hours key drop takes the keys along with a note: your name, a number that reaches you, the vehicle and what it is doing. A writer calls once the doors open, confirms the concern and states the fee before testing.

Waiting or dropping off is decided together at intake, based on the job and what the board can hold that day, and you get a text if a promised look time is going to slip.
