Frame straightening is structural collision work, and Route 66 Auto Repair in Upland does not do it in-house. What we do is find out whether your frame is actually bent, so you know what you are dealing with before a collision shop quotes it. Our ASE-certified technicians inspect the car on a lift, photograph what they find, and give you a written report. If straightening is needed, we refer it and handle the mechanical follow-up afterward.
What are the signs of a bent frame?

What does frame damage mean on a modern car?
Most cars today have a unibody: the body and frame are one welded shell with crumple zones built in. Trucks and some SUVs still use a separate ladder frame. On either, a bend changes where the wheels sit and how the car absorbs the next hit. It is a safety question, not a looks question.
Straightening requires measuring the shell against factory points and pulling it back under control, then often replacing welded sections. That is collision shop equipment and training. Our part is the honest first look, plus the frame damage inspection report and later the suspension, steering and alignment follow-up.
Our frame damage inspection and referral process
Step 1: Lift inspection
We check rails, crossmembers, mounts and the underbody for kinks, cracks and wrinkles.
Step 2: Compare side to side
Gaps, wheel position and suspension mounts are compared with the undamaged side.
Step 3: Photos and report
You get photos and a written summary of what we found.
Step 4: Referral and follow-up
If straightening is needed, we refer it, then handle mechanical and alignment follow-up when it returns.

How is a frame check priced?
The inspection is priced at the counter before we start. Straightening is quoted by the collision shop. Knowing what we found helps you compare their quote. A crash damage assessment covers the frame check plus cooling, lights and steering in one visit.

Bring the car back for a road test, a suspension check and any alignment we arrange. Watch tire wear over the first few thousand miles.
Frequently asked questions
Do you straighten frames?
No. Frame straightening is collision shop work and we refer it. We inspect for frame damage, document it with photos, and handle the mechanical repairs before and after.
Can a bent frame be driven?
Minor bends may drive, but the car may not handle or protect you as designed. If a warning sign is present, have it checked before long drives on the 10 or the 210.
Should I check the frame before buying a used car?
Yes. Our pre-purchase vehicle inspection includes underbody photos of the frame, along with a scan, a road test and a written buy-or-walk letter.
