When does a side mirror need replacing?

Glass only, or the whole mirror?
If the housing and motor are fine and only the glass is cracked, replacing the glass on its backing plate is the smaller job. If the housing is broken, the mount is loose or the power motor has failed, a full assembly is usually the better fix.
Features matter. Heated glass, turn signals, puddle lights, memory and blind spot sensors all change which part fits. We check your mirror against your vehicle before ordering, and blind spot warning is tested after install. Step 1: Identify the features
We note heat, signal, memory, folding and sensor features on your mirror.
Step 2: Quote the right part
The written estimate lists glass only or full assembly, with the reason.
Step 3: Install and connect
The door panel comes off if needed, the mirror is mounted, and any damaged pigtail gets a proper wiring harness repair.
Step 4: Test every function
Adjust, fold, heat, signal and blind spot functions are each tested.

How pricing and timing work
Glass-only jobs cost less than full assemblies, and mirrors with sensors or cameras cost more. Painted housings may arrive unpainted; we tell you that up front and do not claim to paint-match. Your written estimate covers the part and labor. AAA members get 10% off parts and labor, up to $75. Common mirrors can often be done same day when the board allows. Aftercare after a side mirror replacement

Frequently asked questions
Can you replace just the mirror glass?
Yes, when the housing and motor are fine. The replacement glass comes on a backing plate that clips in. If your glass is heated, we match that so the heater still works.
Is it legal to drive without a side mirror?
Rules vary, and a missing driver mirror is a real safety gap. Treat it as need-now and get it replaced soon. We can often fit a common mirror the same day when the board allows.
Will the new mirror match my paint?
Some replacement housings come pre-painted in common colors, and others arrive in black or primer. We tell you which before ordering. We do not claim a factory paint match.
