To be straight with you: Route 66 Auto Repair in Upland is closed on Sunday. We are open Saturday 8 AM to 2 PM and Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. If your car has a problem on a Sunday, you can leave it in our lot and put the key in the after-hours key drop, and we start on it Monday morning.
Your options when the car acts up on a Sunday
- Drop it for Monday. Park in our lot, put the key in the after-hours key drop with a note, and we begin when we open.
- Tow it in. A tow driver can use the key drop too. Tell them the address: 1775 W Foothill Blvd, Upland.
- Wait and drive in Monday. If the car is safe to drive, call at 8 AM Monday.
- Plan ahead next time. Saturday hours are 8 AM to 2 PM for weekend drivers.
Is it safe to wait until Monday?
Often, yes. A steady check engine light, a slow seep or a new squeak usually can wait a day if the car drives normally. It is not safe to keep driving with a flashing check engine light, a temperature gauge in the red, a sinking brake pedal or the oil pressure light on. In those cases, park the car and have it towed. Step 1: Leave a clear note
Write your name, phone number, the vehicle and what it is doing.
Step 2: Use the key drop
Put the key and note in the after-hours key drop.
Step 3: Monday call
Monday morning, the service writer calls to state the diagnostic fee and confirm the concern.
Step 4: Estimate and approval
After testing, you get a written estimate and approve the work.
