An air filter check pulls your engine air filter, and your cabin filter when it is accessible, and holds them up to the light. Why do filters clog faster here?

How often should I replace my engine air filter?
Your owner's manual gives an interval, and dusty driving is usually listed as a reason to shorten it. We check at each oil change and recommend a change only when the filter shows it.
Can a dirty air filter hurt fuel economy?
On modern fuel-injected engines, the effect on mileage is usually small, but a clogged filter can reduce power. A torn filter is the bigger problem, since it lets dust reach the engine.
Can I bring my own air filter?
Yes. We inspect it for fit. There is no warranty on customer-supplied parts, and labor is charged at book time.
